Bring out your barbeque grill because these 100% plant-based, sweet and spicy tofu skewers are the perfect summer cookout food to impress and serve your friends and family.
Chef’s note:
These 100% plant-based BBQ skewers also make for a delicious baked dish when prepared using extra-firm tofu. Make sure to not overcook it.
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of Boombay’s Smoked Chilli + Jaggery Dressing
- 1 packet of Extra Firm Tofu
- 1 small Cabbage
- 1 small Carrot
- 5 to 6 Skewers

Prep
- Shred the cabbage into fine strips and julienne the carrots
- Drain the water from the tofu and cut it to equal thickness vertically
- Marinate the tofu with 1 tablespoon of our Smoked Chilli + Jaggery Dressing
- Soak the skewers in water for half an hour

Cook
- Heat the grill pan or cast-iron pan or a non-stick pan and grease it evenly with oil
- Arrange the tofu skewers on the pan and cook until golden brown with grill marks on the tofu
- Once done, remove the tofu skewers from the pan and if required, remove the grilled tofu from the skewer sticks
- Add carrot and cabbage to a bowl and massage it with salt, pepper and lemon juice
- Serve it as a side salad for the tofu skewer
- Arrange the tofu skewers on a plate and add our Smoked Chilli + Jaggery Dressing to a bowl
- Dip the tofu skewers in our dressing and enjoy
